Pineapple and banana are a pretty classic tropical smoothie combination, but I’ve mixed things up a bit this week by adding turmeric. I’ve been seeing turmeric smoothies and milks flying around Pinterest like crazy lately so wanted to give it a try. The spice has powerful anti-inflammatory properties and is also said to aid in preventing cancers. I decided to toss in a few fresh basil leaves at the last minute (mostly because we’ve managed to keep our basil plant alive and I’m pretty happy about that!) and I love how it turned out. I know… basil in smoothies…black pepper in cookies.…things are going crazy around here!
