Cider-Thyme Bread

Serves: 1 loaf
An easy bread with minimal ingredients but a delicious tangy flavour and thyme scent. Makes a tasty side for soups and stews.
  • 4 cups plain flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp dried thyme leaves
  • 330ml hard apple cider
  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and thyme.
  3. Add cider and mix well. If dough is too dry, add some water until you have a dough you can knead.
  4. Knead the dough for a few minutes.
  5. Shape into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Bake in the oven for 45-50 minutes, or until cooked through and the top is slightly golden.
  7. Let cool before slicing.
