Hey guys! I’m really excited to be sharing a review today about the best vegan recipes app I have ever seen. Seriously, I’m not exaggerating. Let me introduce you to the Food Monster app by One Green Planet. Imagine having access to 5000+ vegan recipes at your finger tips, compiled together in one app. Without having to sift through recipes wondering, “Is this even vegan?” or “Is it gluten free?” or “Oh bummer, look at all that sugar!”.
Because not only are you assured that everything on this app is vegan (yay!) but you can also search recipes by different diets (ie. nut free, grain free, gluten free, no/low sugar, etc)…
You can sort by different meals of the day…
And you can view these cool collections of recipes! I’m personally excited about exploring these collections, how good does less than 5 ingredients sound?!
Food Monster vegan recipes app
I’m really only just touching the tip of the iceberg here too, because this app is endless! Endless amounts of delicious vegan recipes (with more added every single day), endless ways to search, refine and sort the recipes. Oh, and you can bookmark your favourite recipes too!
I’ve been a contributor to One Green Planet for a while now, which means they regularly republish some of my recipes onto One Green Planet (and now, you’ll be able to access these recipes conveniently on the Food Monster app too!).
Because cooking recipes from your phone is convenient! I hate printing recipes from the internet because it’s a waste of paper, so I either try to memorise recipes, or I’m running back and forth from the kitchen to my office laptop so I can figure out what the next ingredient/direction is. Does anyone else do this?
With the Food Monster app, I can have access to a never-ending supply of recipes, wherever I am. I can meal-plan on the go, and check the ingredients I need while shopping, and follow the recipe while cooking in the kitchen – all from the Food Monster app. So convenient!
The downsides? It takes a while to load all the food photos. That could just be my slow internet, or my old iPhone 4S, but it can be a little frustrating waiting for the picture to appear so I can decide if I want to make that dish or not.
The other downside is that the app does not seem to be accessible offline. Admittedly, I am constantly connected to the internet, but I can imagine if I decide to do some meal planning while in town and want to use the Food Monster app, I will either use a fair chunk of my small data allowance, or I’ll get frustrated at the slow 3G internet. First world problems though, right? :D
With those minor issues aside, Food Monster is still the best vegan recipes app ever! Things are much easier to explain in videos, so here is the official launch video from One Green Planet that shows how cool this app is :D (P.S. see how many Vie De La Vegan recipes you can spot in that video!)
Food Monster app is being released this Friday 22nd April, but One Green Planet has shared a *special* link with me so that you guys can access the app before the general public. How cool is that?! If you’d like early access to this revolutionary vegan recipes app, you can download Food Monster app here.
