Okay, so it’s not even funny how obsessed I am with Twilight. But with the release of the Twilight Tenth Anniversary/Life and Death Dual Edition (an interesting bonus where Stephenie Meyer has gender-swapped majority of the characters), I couldn’t resist sharing some vegan Twilight food. Unfortunately, there appears to be only 3 vegan Twilight food recipes floating around on the Internet…(note to self: make more Twilight inspired recipes!).
I have been drawn to Kathy Patalsky’s blog HealthyHappyLife.com for many years, even before I considered becoming a food blogger. I discovered this year that she is a fan of Twilight too. Then when she told me about this recipe, Roasted Beet Salad (aka “The Bella Special” HeartBeet Salad), I fell even more in love with Kathy (if that was possible!).
Continuing on my search I found this recipe for Bella’s Raspberry Waffles, which definitely looks like something Bella would eat – she is a fan of pop tarts for breakfast, so I could imagine she might cook some decadent waffles for a special breakfast. I found this recipe on Babble.com but guess what? It’s a guest post by my favourite blogger, Kathy Patalsky! <3
The last vegan Twilight inspired recipe I could find was my own recipe – after vigorously searching Google and Pinterest, I seriously could only find these 3 vegan recipes! I created this mushroom ravioli inspired by a pivotal scene in Twilight where Bella and Edward go to an Italian restaurant. As Edward reveals a lot of information about himself, Bella picks at her mushroom ravioli…
BONUS: there is a red smoothie named after Bella in Kathy’s book 365 Vegan Smoothies: Boost Your Health With a Rainbow of Fruits and Veggies <3
This post is for the “Pick 3” prompt – a Vegan YoFo challenge set by Jennifer at My Blissful Journey.
I’d love to know what you think about these Twilight recipes!
- Have you seen/made any other Twilight inspired food? Link me up!
- Have you made food inspired by your favourite book/movie?
- What did you think about Life And Death?
Totally clever post and recipes! WOW!!! I still have yet to see the last installment of the Twilight Movies! One of these days I will :) Thanks for linking up on Pick 3!
Thanks Jennifer! You will have to watch the last Twilight movie some day – although I much preferred the books, the movies are a good watch :)
I was soooo obsessed with Twilight until the movies came out. I think they kind of ruined the books for me and I’m not sure why but I’m always disappointed in movies after reading books though so I’m not surprised lol. I’m actually thinking of reading them all again and then reading the Life and Death.
Did you read the book? Let me know if you liked it!
The recipes you found were awesome. Especially the mushroom ravioli, I remember that part so well!
If I can think of a good Twilight inspired recipe, I’ll try to post it in our Halloween YoFo linkup!
That is so cool that you are/were a Twilight fan! Yes, movies do tend to ruin the books, they never turn out the way I quite imagined :( I’ve only read the sample of Life and Death that is available for free on iBooks, and to be honest I didn’t like it – I kept thinking that I could have written it better, haha. But I am considering buying it so I can see how the story ends. I’d love to see you come up with a Twilight inspired recipe, that would be so cool Mary!!! :D
“Okay, so it’s not even funny how obsessed I am with Twilight. ”
It is quite funny actually. I giggled gleefully when I saw the title of your post.
And I did not know there was a new book release!!!! Thank you for sharing that information =)
I’m surprised there are only 3 recipes online for Twilight. Maybe I’ll have to make my own ;p
I also love Happy Healthy Life and didn’t realise Kathy had created some Twilight inspired recipes. I even own the Smoothie book and hadn’t noticed that ;p
I can just imagine you giggling at your screen and then Terry looking to see what you are giggling at, and rolling his eyes at yet another Twilight post :P let me know what you think of Life and Death if you end up reading it! I did find other Twilight inspired recipes online but not vegan unfortunately, but still, I was surprised at the lack of vegan Twilight-inspired recipes too! Maybe there aren’t too many of us vegan Twilight-lovers?
